2. Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha on Monday said it is “deeply concerning” that the Executive Committee members failed to honour Olympic medallists and accused the Finance Committee of blocking funds intended to support Indian athletes’ preparation for the Paris Games.
She revealed that a proposal for a preparatory grant of Rs 2 lakh for each Olympic-bound athlete and Rs 1 lakh for each coach had been blocked by the Finance Committee, notably by IOA Treasurer Sahdev Yadav.
3. Ravindra Jadeja became the first Indian left arm spinner to take 300 test wickets in Test cricket. The all rounder became the second fastest player who scored 3000 test runs and scalped 300 test wickets. He became the second fastest cricketer after Sir Ian Botham to take 300 test wickets and scored 3000 test runs.
Ravindra Jadeja became the fourth quickest Indian bowler to take 300 wickets in his 74th test match behind Ravichandran Ashwin (54 Test), Anil Kumble (66 Test), Harbhajan Singh (72 Test).
4. Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) chief Samuel Eto’o has been banned from attending the national team’s matches for six months after violating FIFA’s disciplinary regulations, soccer’s governing body said.
