1. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Vidarbha today and also predicted heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar till 14th September.

2. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2024 in Greater Noida today. The three day event is being organised with the theme “Shaping the Semiconductor Future”. The conference will showcase India’s semiconductor strategy and policy which envisions making India a global hub for semiconductor.

3. Union minister for Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that Panchayati Raj institutions can play crucial role in making India a developed nation by 2047. The Union Minister was addressing the inaugural session of a three-day national workshop for elected representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions in Patna.

4. PM Modi chaired the first meeting of the Governing Board of Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), in New Delhi on 10 September, 2024.

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation Act, 2023 (ANRF) is an Act of the Parliament of India. It seeks to regulate all research and development in the fields of sciences, technology, mobility, agriculture and health tech establishments in India. On 14 August 2023, the National Research Foundation (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2023 was introduced in the Lok Sabha for the first time.

5. In Haryana, the second list of candidates was announced for the Haryana Assembly polls. BJP has announced total 88 candidates, Congress – 40

Jannayak Janta party in alliance with Azad Samaj Party has announced 31 candidates while Indian National Lok Dal in alliance with Bhahujan samaj Party has announced 17 candidates so far.

6. Nagaland Government is scheduled to hold a Consultative Meeting with all Tribal bodies of the state to deliberate on the Naga Political Issue on 12th September.

7. As part of its ongoing commitment to the Digital India vision, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the third phase of its capacity-building initiatives. These initiatives focus on critical areas such as Digital Public Infrastructure, Contract and Procurement Management, the Application of Artificial intelligence and machine learning, Managing Large Digital Transformation Projects, Digital Governance, and Data Management.

8. The government of India is implementing preparatory measures and public health strategies to address potential Mpox cases. Mpox, previously known as Monkeypox, is a zoonotic viral disease with symptoms similar to Smallpox, though less severe. It typically resolves on its own within two to four weeks.

9. Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh will launch Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojna in an event in New Delhi today.

10. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar yesterday administered the oath to two newly elected Members of the Rajya Sabha. He administered the oath to Mission Ranjan Das and Rajib Bhattacharjee in Parliament House.

11. Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton said the state government is on high alert and will take all steps to prevent any influx of illegal immigrants in the state.

12. Andhrapradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the companies dealing with electronic gadgets to carry out repair works to the flood-damaged electronic gadgets free of cost and offer spare parts at a discount.

13. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday evening invited the agitating junior doctors for a meeting at the state secretariat to resolve the impasse over the RG Kar hospital issue.

16. Motorists using private vehicles with a functional global navigation satellite system will be allowed to travel toll-free on highways and expressways up to 20 km daily with effect from Tuesday.

17. A Delhi court on Tuesday granted interim bail till October 2 to newly elected Lok Sabha MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, in a terror funding case to enable him to campaign in the coming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Maharashtra Congress leader Naseem Khan has requested Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to declare September 18 a holiday for Eid-e-Milad, so that Eid and Anant Chaturdashi ‘can be celebrated with pomp and gaiety’. Ganesh Visarjan set to be celebrated on September 17, the Muslim community in Mumbai has decided to move back their Eid-e-Milad procession to September 18, Free Press Journal reported on September 9.

19. Telangana has increased its number of government medical colleges to 34, following the approval of eight new medical colleges by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the current academic year, Minister for Health C. Damodar Raja Narasimha announced on Tuesday.

1. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has described cybersecurity as an integral part of national security saying the Centre has planned to train five thousand cyber commandos in the next five years to deal with cybercrime. He stated while addressing the first foundation day celebration of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) in New Delhi.

2. The Telangana High Court gave the government three months to complete the contemporaneous empirical inquiry to identify political backwardness classes of citizens and enumeration of Backward Classes voters in every local body situated in Telangana.

3. More than 50 students were injured when they tried to march towards Raj Bhawan in Manipur capital Imphal for the second day on Tuesday during their protest demanding removal of DGP and the Centre’s security advisor Kuldiep Singh.

The Manipur government on Tuesday evening issued an amended order, stating that the suspension of internet services in the wake of intensified agitation by students applies only to the state’s five valley districts.

4. Enforcement Directorate Tuesday claimed that the wife of Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, purchased two immovable assets without “proper approval” from West Bengal government authorities.

5. A court in Surat on Tuesday remanded to two-day police custody, 23 out of 27 persons arrested on charges of rioting and attempt to murder after staging a protest against the detention of six minors for pelting stones at a Lord Ganesh pandal in the city.

The police produced the 27 accused in the court and submitted an application, seeking their 14-day remand to carry out investigation to find out whether rioting was part of a pre-planned conspiracy.

6. The police have registered a case against an unidentified person after a post on social media platform X claimed that “cracks” have started appearing on the Statue of Unity in Gujarat and it can “fall anytime.

Devara: Part 1 is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language action thriller film written and directed by Koratala Siva. Produced by Yuvasudha Arts and N. T. R. Arts, it stars N. T. 1. Indian Navy Civilian Entrance Test, which was scheduled to commence yesterday has been cancelled due to unforeseen technical and administrative reasons. The Indian Navy, in a statement, has said that the online exam for the recruitment of various Group ‘B (NG)’ and Group ‘C’ posts was to be conducted on pan India basis till the 14th of this month.

2. The 20th edition of the India-USA Joint Military Exercise, Yudh Abhyas 2024, started on September 9, 2024, at the Foreign Training Node in Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Rajasthan. This exercise, scheduled from September 9 to 22.

3. The Indian Navy has taken a major step to strengthen its anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities by purchasing 500 sonobuoys for $52.8 million (around Rs 436 crore). These sonobuoys will be used with the Sikorsky MH-60R helicopters.
